Franscesco Iacurto, RCA

Born in Montreal on September 1st, 1908, Iacurto shows remarcable aptitude. At the age of 13, he exposes at the Monument National, Montreal, and at the age of 14, he becomes the youngest student at l'École des Beaux-Arts de Montréal. In 1927, he wins many awards and obtains his teaching diploma. The next year, he goes to Paris on a scholarship.
In 1938, Iacurto comes back to Quebec while still travelling to France, Italy and Greece.
Quebec and Charlevoix's beauty is expressed through his production. Between 1965 and 1974, he teaches at the Royal Canadian Academy. Afterwards, he devotes himselfs entirely to his art.
In his career, he is received as Knight in the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic, Knight of the Ordre National du Quebec and Order of Canada.
He is known for the quality of his drawing and attention to details.
