Pianist in his early years, Benoît Simard studied and taught psychology before devoting himself entirely to his art in the 80's.
This self-taught painter participated to more than thirty group exhibitions around the world, in France, Italy, Australia, and New York. He also organised more than thirty solo exhibitions.
He also became a member of the Royal Canadian Academy (RCA), despite the fact that he was self-taught.
His work is colourful, playful and composed of spontaneous shapes.
